Language Skills Elementary I is a survey skills course for university EFL students. It serves as a basic review of rudimentary language skills in the four language skills areas: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The four skill areas are well integrated within this course to provide students with a well-rounded approach to communicating in English for academic, professional, and social purposes. Students are taught grammar communicatively within simulations of real-life situations. The course emphasizes language rules that govern syntax, morphology, phonetics, vocabulary, and pragmatics.
